Client from 2014-18 including complete mobile-first redesign of the consumer bike builder application, e-commerce and Brompton electric web applications.
Bike builder
The brief
To create a simple configurator, to work primarily on mobile devices, for users to select and apply different components and place an order for a bespoke bike.
The challenge
We did extensive research into various configurator tools as well as tenacious testing of what worked well and how we could improve functionality. 2 months of additional research was conducted within the Brompton owners community to understand their needs. We then produced extensive UX lo-fidelity wireframes and prototypes, which were built, tested and UI generated using Brompton bikes style guides.
The solution
A unique bike configurator tool, Bike Builder, that offered consumers the ability to design and order their own custom-built Brompton, with up to 15 million different combinations to choose from.
E-commerce
The brief
To rebuild the Brompton e-commerce section, which included Luggage, Accessories, Bike components and Apparel.
The challenge
The implementation of UX & UI to cover the entire customer journey minimising any barriers to product search, customer support, redemption, purchase and customer fulfilment.
The solution
A seamless customer checkout and post-sales experience - from browsing content taxonomies within the shop, perusing product lists sections and product detail pages, to purchase and designing opportunities for Brompton to cross sell and further engage customers beyond an initial purchase.

The Brief

To enable users to track diagnostics of the Brompton electric battery and notifications for remaining charge and low charge alerts.
The challenge
We created an easy-to-navigate mobile application dashboard with an Apple Watch version.
The solution
The ability for Brompton cyclists to monitor key diagnostics and record max speed/distance in a light and dark mode, depending on time of day.
