The brief

To research, plan, scope and develop a product that allows users to view their retirement wealth from multiple data sources, this was made possible by the development of a secure data mesh that could mount different data points through a development dashboard and render real-time data through a bespoke financial end user customisable dashboard.

The challenge

This was a two-year project that started with extensive research around industry standard BI tools that allow users to analyse their financial data.

This progressed to stakeholder interviews around business requirements and the need to develop a solution that was simpler to access and more intuitive than the standard platforms. The goal was to develop a platform that provided an 'at-a-glance' view of wealth that could be filtered with four main ‘wealth’ tabs: Total, Pension, Savings and Investment.

The solution

Qual and Quant research was conducted with multiple stakeholder groups followed by extensive card sorting exercises, user journey mapping, user stories and use cases prior to Lo-fidelity UX prototype iterations and extensive testing with all stakeholders before a solution was agreed with the key stakeholder sand the wider development team.

This was followed by extensive hi-fidelity UI design options with custom components before a final design was agreed, developed, built and deployed in a development environment for extensive QA.

Users could view their aggregated wealth from different pension pots, Savings and Investments in one simple dashboard to manage and use as retirement funds.

Further MVP's were planned to accommodate  the ability to pay-in and withdraw funds.
